Which pigment causes "Black" colour in hair?

Reply:Just to let you know.. actual black hair doesn't exist.


It's always just very dark brown, that's a fact.

Reply:The pigment melanin is responsible for both hair and skin being black. Weirdly enough it is made up of two pigments itself, one of which is a dark brown, the other is a sort of strawberry blond.
