Split pigment in puppy nose?

If a puppy has a split pigment (two colours lighter cream and black looking nose at 3 weeks. Will it go all black as the puppy gets older ?

Split pigment in puppy nose?
Yes it could, my friends puppy's nose was pink and black until it was 8 weeks old, and is fine now. It is quite common not to be completely black at that age.
Reply:Probably not no! It is never usually a problem though, although you should check the lighter part doesnt get sunburnt in the summer!
Reply:usually,, depends on the breed though,,,,

what breed and are the parents noses fully pigmented

** theresa is wrong,, my blue merle aussies had spotted noses at birth, took up to about 6 months for their noses to get all black- it is even written into the standard,, "pups under a year old NOT to be faulted for lack of full pigmentation on the nose." so relax,, your dog will probably get a black nose,,

but what kind of dog and how about its parents??????????????????????????
Reply:usualy not if you were planning on showing the dog this is known as a fault and will not get placed but if it is just a pet it is usualy fine and sometimes can be the best quility of the dogb and look fairly cute
Reply:not likely. it could change though. this only really matters in shows. there is a pigment color paste, if you are gonna show the dog. its only temporary though
Reply:The pigment may change over time depending on the breed, age, etc. My dog's nose was solid black when she was younger and has faded as she has aged. Pigment in all mammals can change a bit over time and based on various factors.
Reply:probably not. but this is okay and is more common in a lot of dog breeds like weirmaranas, dalmations and jack russels. the different colours will not harm the dog, and the cream may or may not turn to a light pink colour as theiy get older.
Reply:Its hard to predict I know of a merle collie whose nose remained mainly pink %26amp; then again our english bull terrier started off with just a couple of tiny black specs on his pink nose %26amp; by a year old his nose was totally black.

Either way Im sure your puppy looks cute just watch for sunburn if it stays pink/pale.

Good luck with your pup x
Reply:Well, you see, it is a SHIH TZU! Dont know about the nose - I guess it's something you will have to wait and see about.
Reply:My pups nose is also like this. His parents both have black noses. He has a black and pink patchy nose. We got him checked out by the vet and she said it is perfectly normal for a dogs nose to be this way. Sometimes it will go back to black but unforunatly for some it may not. But either way s/he is still a pup for life. It is just there unique markings.

Colours - pigment and light?

A painting of a person wearing a yellow shirt is observed under white light. The yellow pigment in the painting:

A) Absorbs yellow, orange and green light

B) Reflects red, blue and violet light

C) Absorbs red, blue and violet light

D) ABsorbs only yellow light

I'm sure it's C but not sure why...

Colours - pigment and light?
None of the above. The yellow pigment absorbs blue light and reflects red and green.
Reply:Yeah, your textbook is a little stange because its talking about the full spectrum from red to violet in the normal: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet. It gets confusing talking about all the colors of the spectrum, because a spectrum is really a continuous gradation of light from the red end to the violet end, not discrete colors at all. Scientists typically break the visible spectrum into 3 primary colors, red, green and blue, because you can characterise any color as a mixture of these three. That's what the other guy is saying.

But your answer is correct, given the choices. C.

The pigment reflects more yellow than any other color, and maybe its reflecting orange and green but you don't really know. It might be reflecting lots of red and violet as well. The key is that its reflecting things that add up to predominantly yellow.

Mac Pigment Eye Shadows?

Are pigment powders from the art store safe to use on eyes, like the ones from Mac? Thank you!

Mac Pigment Eye Shadows?
NO! Only cosmetic graded pigments are safe for use on skin, ESPECIALLY around the eyes...However, a little trick is that if it's safe to use on your eye it's safe to use on your lip and visa versa. Please don't use art supplies as make up, it could damage your eyes...
Reply:I wouldn't do that if i were you, your eyes could go peremenantly blind if you get some in your eyes
Reply:It depends. I would check the ingredients used in the pigment powders first, and then check that against the contents of eye shadow. I do know that many pigments are perfectly fine to use like that, as are "earth paints," which always come in a powder form. Just check and make sure, then test some on your skin to see if you have a reaction. It's unlikely, but it's best to make sure.

Most of the pigments in cosmetics are the same ones used in paints and other pigment powders. You'll find titanium dioxide, various iron oxides and ochres, and even charcoal in some makeup.

Phytochrome pigment.?

What is phytochrome pigment?

How does light affect germination?

Does it have to do with the absorption spectra

Phytochrome pigment.?
The extensive researches of scientists at the plant industry station at Beltsville, yale and Duke university and at several research institutes have culminated in the isolation of a blue or yellow green proteinaceous pigment, called phytochrome which is the primary receptor of the visible radiation. These are photosensitive photoreceptor found in almost all flowering plants. It was discovered by Borthwick et al (1952) and isolated by Butler et al (1959) from etiolated seedlings of maize. It exists in two interconvertible states, blue and yellow green,Pr and Pfr. Pfr is associated with cellmembrane while proccurs diffused in cytosol. It causes germination of seeds, inhibit flowering in SDP and in LDP plants.Pr absorbs light at 660nm and is changed to Pfr or P730. The latter absorbs light of 730nm and is changed back to Pr quickly. It is required in seed germination of some olants, bud dormancy, leaf abscisson, synthesis of gibberellins and etylene, prevention of photooxidation, photoperiodism and morphogenesis.Pfr is essential for seed germination.Pr is inactive form whil Pfr is active form.
Reply:ok, phytochrome far red (Pfr) reacts to red light and converts phytochrome red (Pr), it reacts to fr light, etc.
Reply:Phytochrome a red light photopigment that plays a major role in virtually all aspects of plant growth and development.

Phytochrome exists as two forms – a red absorbing form (Pr) and a far-red absorbing form (Pfr).

Pfr is the form that mediates photomorphogenic effects.

Absorption of red light by Pr converts pigment to active form (Pfr) which mediates effects on plants.

Absorption of far-red light by Pfr drives the pigment back to the Pr (inactive) form
Reply:Phytochrome is a photoreceptor, a pigment that plants use to detect light. It is sensitive to light in the red and far-red region of the visible spectrum. Many flowering plants use it to regulate the time of flowering based on the length of day and night (photoperiodism) and to set circadian rhythms. It also regulates other responses including the germination of seeds, elongation of seedlings, the size, shape and number of leaves, the synthesis of chlorophyll, and the straightening of the epicotyl or hypocotyl hook of dicot seedlings.

Phytochrome has been found in most plants including all higher plants; very similar molecules, now also called phytochromes, have been found in several bacteria.

Other plant photoreceptors include cryptochromes and phototropins, which are sensitive to light in the blue and ultra-violet regions of the spectrum.

The Pfr isoform passes on a signal to other biological systems in the cell, such as the mechanisms responsible for gene expression. Although this mechanism is almost certainly a biochemical process, it is still the subject of much debate. It is known that although phytochromes are synthesized in the cytosol and the Pr form is localized there, the Pfr form, when generated by light illumination, is translocated to the cell nucleus. This implies a role of phytochrome in controlling gene expression, and many genes are known to be regulated by phytochrome, but the exact mechanism has still to be fully discovered. It has been proposed that phytochrome, in the Pfr form, may act as a kinase, and it has been demonstrated that phytochrome in the Pfr form can interact directly with transcription factors.

A thin seed coat is so thin that it is no barrier to water. Some other kind of dormancy mechanism is needed. Knowing that light can penetrate thin layers of plant tissue (leaves for example) should give you the idea that light might be a signal. That plants can absorb light and respond biochemically is a fact you know from your study of photosynthesis. All we need is a pigment molecule that can absorb light and cause a change in the behavior of the embryo.

The pigment is phytochrome. Like chlorophyll, it is made of a chromophore with tetrapyrole structure and is associated with proteins. This pigment is different from chlorophyll, however, in one critical way. It exists in two inter-convertible forms.

One form of phytochrome, named Pfr, is the form of the phytochome found in plant cells that are exposed to red (660 nm) or common white light. This form of phytochrome is biologically very active and plays a role in all systems when a plant needs to know if the lights are "on" or "off." In lettuce (Lactuca sativa) seeds, Pfr causes the seeds to begin to germinate as we will soon see. Thus lettuce seeds germinate only when placed in white or red light. Buried in deep soil, they will not germinate. Given that lettuce has a small seed, I think you can figure out why evolution arrived at this solution.

The other form of phytochrome, named Pr, is formed when phytochrome is exposed to far-red (730 nm) light. This form is biologically inactive or inhibits responses. Thus if lettuce seeds are placed in far-red light they do not germinate.

Large seeds have lots of storage material. If their seed coat is very thin, their evolution may have arrived at a completely different response. Think about pea seeds. They are large and have very thin seed coats.

MAC pigment eyeshadow as an eyeliner? Possible??

I've been told that you can dip an eyeshadow brush in water and use the eyeshadow as an eyeliner. I recently bought the MAC pigment Black-Black color and want to know if this method will leave smudges or if it will smear off? I know MAC is one of the best products so I'm hoping it works. I haven't gotten my order yet. So can anyone give me some suggesions or prior experience advice? Thanks :)

MAC pigment eyeshadow as an eyeliner? Possible??
Hey girl-

you can always use water to make any eyeshadow a liner. The best way to have the liner stay on is to put a eyeshadow on your lid before you line your lid, powder sticks to powder, even if its wet.
Reply:hi.. i think the wet eyeshadow brush does work well, but it also works well if u have a dry eyeshadow brush, and you just use it ike an eyeliner pencil..

Dark pigment on armpits?

Hi, I have dark pigment on my armpits, how can I get it to my natural skintone?

Dark pigment on armpits?
Sounds like Acanthosis nigricans. Acanthosis nigricans is a disorder that may begin at any age. It causes velvety, light-brown-to-black, markings usually on the neck, under the arms or in the groin. Acanthosis nigricans is most often associated with obesity.

Eating too much of the wrong foods, especially starches and sugars, can cause insulin resistance. This will result in elevated insulin levels. Most patients with acanthosis nigricans have a higher insulin level than those of the same weight without acanthosis nigricans. Elevated levels of insulin in most cases probably cause acanthosis nigricans. The elevated insulin levels in the body activates insulin receptors in the skin, forcing it to grow abnormally. Reducing the circulating insulin by dieting or medication can lead to improvement of the skin problem.

When acanthosis nigricans develops in people who are not overweight, a medical work-up should be done. Rarely acanthosis nigricans is associated with a tumor, most commonly of the stomach or gut. In these cases acanthosis can bee seen in extra places, such as the lips or hands and is unusually severe. Occasionally acanthosis nigricans is congenital or due to an endocrine (glandular) disorder.

Treatment to just improve the appearance includes Retin-A, 20% urea, alpha hydroxyacids, and lactic or salicylic acid prescriptions.

Good luck!
Reply:Regular scrubbing or go for light pulse treatment. It will lighten the pigmentation
Reply:Try using baking soda and lemon juice. My cousin has on her face and it removed all her dark circles, age spots, and freckles.
Reply:you should be careful what kinda razor you use cause under your arms are super senitive so you can get razor burn eaily i personally love the venus razors but the cut to close under my armpits i have found that the cheap ones work better but the moment they get a little dull chuck um and if you don't have to shave under your arms everyday then don't . i had that same problem and that dove deoderant really works
Reply:oh i had that. if you sweat and your stinky all the time there is your answer. so the best thing i would say to do is get some alchol (sorry i spelled it wrong),some cream like nivea ,and some cotton balls. OK all you do is get the cream and put it on your armpits and leave it for like 20 seconds or less then get your cotton ball and put some alchol and start to scrub your armpits. you will be amazed at how much dirt comes off!! oh and then shave it and wash it very good with hot then cold water..trust me this will work but you will have to use this for about 1 or 2 weeks before it completely comes off good luck :)
Reply:go and get this nice $9 skin lightening cream.. it's safe and potent, and it works.. it did for me!

Pigment Spots?

I have some small white dots on my legs and back which the dermatologist said were just like "white freckles" or spots of white pigment. I want to know an easy way to cover these up....spray tan? Thanks!

Pigment Spots?
A self tanning product or leg makeup would be the only remedies you had, aside from pantyhose. The spots are simply places where the melanine is not as highly concentrated as elsewhere, and that's not something you can fix. You are just "reverse freckled". That's a genetic thing.

Alteration of Iris Pigment?

I read somewhere that there is a procedure usuing lasers that can alter the iris pigment (example: change brown eyes to blue with removing certian pigments to create a diffrent wavelength/color). is this true? and where can I get this procedure done and how much would it cost?

Alteration of Iris Pigment?
I would not advise lasers to alter eye color. Although they use it for vision correction (which is never 100% accurate) I would not risk my eyesight just to have a different color of eyes.

Pigment dyeing?

Is there anyone who can tell me how i can use pigment dyeing to achieve the distressed or stone wash look that is so popular on shirts this days?

Pigment dyeing?
first of all i have no idea what that is. ooohhhhhhh i feel stupid ya i do sorry i didnt read the entier quesion...."blonde moment" lol...

but ya i have no idea...

Pigment Translocation?

Looking for something about "Pigment Translocation" in reptiles and speicially in snakes, please help me about this. A site ref, Researcher mail, or a pdf file.

Pigment Translocation?
This article )http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn94... is about the snake discovered in Borneo. If you search for 'chameleon snake' on yahoo, you'll get a lot of versions of this same story.

This wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chromatopho... talks about pigment translocation, aka physiological color change. You might be able to find a good journal article in the references at the end.

The guy who wrote this article (https://notes.utk.edu/bio/greenberg.nsf/... is studying reptile color change in response to stress. His article, and the ones in his references might help you.

Hope one of those helps!

Pigment in my Leg?

I am missing some pigment in my leg making it white...Really white like Albino white..but anyway is there a way to make it atleast unoticable?

Pigment in my Leg?
Could be vitiligo. Go to the dermatologist, sometimes topical steroids can help change the pigment back, or in a severe case you can bleach the rest of the skin to match.
Reply:You could put some cover up on it...Or leave it how it is....If people talk **** about it...Thats on them....That just showing you their ignorance!

I'm having pigment on my back.?

I had this pigment on my back when I started to swim under the hot sun about 8 years ago. I tried many ways like putting lots of body lotion, cream by doctors, chinese medicine, try use brush to brush while bathing, eating more vegetables and fruits to cure the pigment but it is still the same. It only appear on my back. Other than that my skins are ok. Is there any chance of being cure?

I'm having pigment on my back.?
The only way to "cure" it is to start using a total sun block on your back so that no futher tanning occurs. What is there will gradually fade over time.

How to change eye pigment?!!!!?

I want to reduce my eye pigment so that my eyes turn from brown to blue. PLZZZZ HELP ME!!! I will do anything to change it! I'll jump off a cliff and land headfirst if I have to!

How to change eye pigment?!!!!?
err, you can use colored contacts.

i really don't think there's anyway to change your color pigment, son. O.o
Reply:sorry.....cant change eye color without colored contacts........
Reply:Coloured contacts should do the trick.
Reply:You can't.

Coloured contact lenses are an option but they tend not to look very realistic over a dark iris. It wouldn't hurt to try them though.
Reply:you can't.
Reply:If you jump off a cliff and land on your head, you won't have to worry about your eye color. LOL

The only solution is to get color contact lens. You can actually order these online.

There are many other sites that you can look at that will show where to order colored contact lens.

Christina perfect pigment?

I'm interested in perfect pigment, but I'm an African American female and I'm not sure if the color palette pigment #2 will match my skin tone. The "darker skin" model on the infomercial wasn't really dark. I have more of a redish complexion. Does anyone know if this would work for someone of my color?

Christina perfect pigment?
im not sure i no for a fact mac have great foundations with really good undertones for darker skins check it out you will never use anything else

Yeast/rash pigment loss question?

I had some patches of pigment loss on my shoulders and I went to the doc and she said it wasnt pigment loss, but a fungus. She prescribed a topical antifungal. I have been using it a few weeks now, and can see a slight lessing of the whitness of the patches. However, now i have a scab like rash on my shoulders where I have used the cream, they are a series on blotches that look like cigarette burns. Any advice? I wont have the money to go back to the doc for a few weeks.

Yeast/rash pigment loss question?
you should go and speak to a dermatologist for this sort of thing, a regular GP is probably not that informed when it comes to this sort of scarring. your going to have to just pay that little bit extra and see and expert

Can something have NO pigment? If so, what color is it?

Can something have NO pigment? If so, what color is it? If something has no pigment, does that mean its clear? if so, does that mean glass has no pigment?

Can something have NO pigment? If so, what color is it?
Very few things have no pigment, in fact, several gasses have it, if it had no pigment, it would then be completely clear. Even the atmosphere's air has pigment though. It has a blue pigment. But, glass has pigment, except only small amounts. If a rod of glass extends thousands of feet and light is shined through it, it has a generally blue, green or black pigment.

Hair colour pigment cells?
blue eyes indicates no melanin or low melanin
