i'm doing the experiment to isolate the azotobacter,
refer Berjey's manual...
said that the azotobacter is fluorescent pigment...
can anyone told me how to test the bacteria that i was isolated is fluorescent ....???????
need what chemical or equipment ?????
How to test the bacteria is it fluorescent pigment? specially for the azotobacter?
Acetobacter can be easily distinguished in the laboratory by their growth of colonies on a medium containing about 7% ethanol, and enough calcium carbonate to render the medium partially opaque. When Acetobacter colonies form enough acetic acid from the ethanol, the calcium carbonate around the colonies dissolves, forming a very distinct clear zone.
in order to isolate by using its fluoresecent keep a photographic plate so the we can know the position of the azotobacter in the plate using the immpression of its flourescence on the plate.
