I noticed that alot of people with less pigment tend to not get as cold?

than people with more pigment.

example.....45 degrees outside is this warm enough for flipflops and shorts.

See it often just wondering if it has to do with pigment.

No. It's a lot of things, I'm sure. I'm a pasty, redheaded, green eyed woman just 5 pounds under her 'ideal' body weight who grew up in Sweden. I spent the last 20 years in California. I just moved to Michigan and I'M FREEZING!!!

I wasn't this cold in Sweden, ever. I was skinny when I lived there. I only got too warm in Cali when it broke 106 F. That's also where I put on most of my weight (mmmm.... Mexican food...). I'm willing to bet it's just a simple case of individual tolerance and/or conditioning.

Reply:no it has to do with a persons body fat
Reply:No. Pigment just saves your skin from sunburn. I think that depends more on whether you're male or female, and what kind of climate you grow up in. Women tend to become colder faster but can tolerate it longer. Its a survival thing. I grew up in a cold climate so I'm ok with colder weather that other people might want a jacket for, whereas I am not used to hot weather and can't tolerate anthing over 85/90 degrees. Then I moved to a place where the summers have been 115 degrees and it was pure hell for a few years until I adjusted to a warmer climate range. Its just what you're used to.
