I have been doing research on the one of the hottest new makeup products...pigments. I have not used any yet, but I'm curious, and am thinking about trying one out. Everyone says MAC is the best, but honestly who would pay 20 bucks for tiny jar of powder? Then i thought, well I would. :] But I don't want to order off the net and the only other place with MAC products around here is available at Macy's and they only have 6 colors or so, while MAC has out like a billion. But then I discovered L'Oreal HIP. They might have a very small variety compared to MAC, but they are cheaper and I could walk less than a mile to get them. I don't know what to do, so I need advice. If you could tell me all about HIP pigments and how they compare to MAC. Thankss!
For people who are pigment addicts!?
the Hip shadows are good but the loose pigments are no where near as good as MAC. the texture is clumpy, application isnt smooth, and the colors aren't good. Better to spend $20 on something good than $10 on crap. MAC pigments are expensive, but they seriously last FOREVER.
Reply:I would just try them and see if you like them. If they work for you, and you dont have to pay an arm and a leg to try them, I'd do it :)
Reply:"Pigments" is not a makeup product, but rather a reference to how deep and rich the color of any makeup product is, whether its eyeshadow or lipstick. When someone says that a specific eyeshadow is high in pigment, they mean that the color is rich and strong, and doesn't need to be layered in order to see deep and vibrant color. Some cheaper and less well-known makeup brands use less pigment and thus the color is not as vibrant.
Reply:I LOVEEEEE L'Oreal HIP!! they are awesome!! get one to start out and see how you like it!
Reply:well, i honestly like the L'Oreal HIP
that stuff is cheap and its pretty!
I love MAC but this stuff works well.
If you like using it and would like other stuff, id suggest buying the MAC. i have some pigment stuff from avon and if you use the smallest amount sometimes its wayyyyyyy too much.
Reply:The HIP pigments are ok in my opinion and only work well with a colored base. MAC pigments are so much better. They are expensive and the jar will last you a lifetime unless you're an artist and you use the same color all the time on clients. I get mine off of ebay from a reputable seller that sells pigment samples. For the price of one pigment I can try a few colors and the samples last quite a long time because it is so highly concentrated and little goes a long way. Just be careful on ebay though because some sellers do sell fake MAC. Good Luck
