Anything that's worth it, anything that will safely do a good job, is going to be expensive. But a few cheap ways to lighten a too dark dye job are to use a clarifying shampoo, a dandruff shampoo, Prell shampoo and/or a dishwashing detergent. The sooner you use those products after dying, the better your results will be. Or maybe try highlights, that'll help lighten up a too dark color.
