Is Pigment (stamp) Ink Bad For Self Tattooing?
unless your allergic to something in the ink, the ink wont make you sick. Hundreds of thousands of people have giving themselves crappy tattoos at home with primitive methods and they're fine...except for a bad tattoo that fades fast and never looked good in the first place...just keep it clean, like any wound.
Reply:Yes, it IS bad.

You have no idea what the toxic properties of that ink might be. For all you know, it's made of lead. And now it's under your skin.

Also, no, you didn't "sterilize" your stuff. I can almost guarentee it. You would need an autoclave to do that, and since they cost 2,000 bucks, I seriously doubt that someone cheap enough to self-tattoo would have one. Soaking it in rubbing alcohol doesn't "sterilize" it. Hepetitis will survive through that just fine.

I'm sorry, but I'm just going to come out with it: no one short of a total moron would ever tattoo themselves.
Reply:Well you already started, so that's pretty bad. I'd suggest rinsing and disinfecting the area and praying that it doesn't get infected or that there were any toxic chemicals in the ink. If you're going to give yourself a tattoo, try using something safer,...i'm pretty sure that India ink is safe, but you'd have to double chack that. But trying to give yourself a tattoo is stupid (though i have considered it myself..) unless you have some idea what you're doing.
Reply:You'll be lucky if you don't die from this, sweetheart. You did't sterilize anything, unless you own an autoclave.
Reply:Yeah. That was a 9 on the "Dumb things you shouldn't do to your body" scale of 1-10. Stop. Wash it. Let it heal. Start thinking of a meaningful tattoo you can get when you turn 18 that you can cover the scar with. Like Aramaic for "I will never try to tattoo my own flesh ever again"
Reply:self tattooing is horrible.. you're risking infection and they look like hell.. if you want a tattoo so bad then save up some money and go to a professional.. it will look a million times better than anything you could attempt to do at home.. it's worth the money in the end rather than poking ink into your own body..
Reply:Why on earth would you do such a careless thing.

Stamp ink has completely different chemicals in it then tattoo ink.

Tattooing yourself is not a smart thing to do period, but to add to it your not using the right equipment. You are risking a horrible infection.

Well later down the road IF for some reason it does manage to stay and I seriously doubt it will. You'll end up having it covered up by someone who knows what they are doing, costing you a lot more.
Reply:Uh, first of all, unless you have an autoclave, you didn't sterilize.

Secondly, the only ink that is safe to go in your body is tattoo ink.

If you're going to do a home made tattoo, do a real home made tattoo and use India...jeez
Reply:I don't know. The only ink in tattooing is black. The colored 'ink' is pigment. So I'm not sure what you mean.
